This was a tasty project.
We were approached by the founder of Edinburgh’s Caledonian Brewery to help them develop their brand and give them a distinct position in the crowded brewing market.
Off the back of our work with Belhaven Brewery and Springbank Distillers, we were asked to develop a new brand. We started by developing a clear brand message for them, honest brewing, that encapsulated their ethos for the traditional. From there we began on the identity for the brewery, taking our inspiration from early Americana.
With a focus on exporting their beers to the American market we created a brand with a vintage feel and Sugarpine Brewing Co. was born. A perfect name for the new brewing house, as well as being memorable it relates to the company’s first beer ‘The Wilderness Ale’ which was brewed to celebrate John Muir the Scottish-American naturalists favourite tree.
With the name set we developed a punchy, iconic identity, hand drawn illustrations of John Muir and supporting marketing POS.
